Crypto.com At the 65th Grammy Awards, the arena was turned into Harry’s House as Harry Styles won Album of the Year.
“More than anything, it just feels like validation that you’re on the right track,” Styles stated in the press room following his victory. “When we get into the studio and start working on a record, we just make the music we want to produce, and it’s very wonderful to feel like that’s the correct thing to do.”
Styles, who also won for Best Pop Vocal Album, spoke on the album’s consistency, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released in May, and his North American tour just concluded, leading to it being performed live at shows and residencies across the country.
“I’ve always enjoyed performing; it’s always been my favorite aspect of working in music. And I’ve been able to truly fall in love with the album-making process, and it is now one of my life’s loves, along with performing it,” he remarked.

“It’s incredible to see how songs that mean so much to me mean so much to other people when you’re playing for them. In that regard, I’m grateful to my followers for creating an environment in which I feel free to create whatever I want. When I’m performing, I feel so liberated. That’s a true gift, and I adore it.”
He also thanked his followers for fueling the energy.
“The atmosphere that is created in live music and the experiencing of that… when there’s someone on stage it feels like that’s what that person is doing. “And in reality I very much feel like the fans create that atmosphere for me, and the room is this energy that almost feels like it’s too magical for me to take any responsibility for,” he said.
“It’s probably the thing I’m proudest of in my life, this feeling that is in the room that I get to experience every night on stage. Every night, playing for an incredible bunch of individuals is my absolute favorite thing to do.”
Styles revealed that he and his Harry’s House co-writers Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson have continued writing throughout the tour.

We’ve always tried not to stop writing because it feels like there’s a big break and then you come back to it and it might feel like you’re trying to prove something or follow something up,” he explained. “So we’re continually writing and try to have the same intention behind everything we write.”
Album of the Year nominees were Abba, Adele, Bad Bunny, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, and Lizzo.
“I think it’s essential to remember on evenings like this that there’s no such thing as ‘best’ in music,” Styles remarked of the award.
“I don’t think any of us in the studio make decisions based on what will get us one of these. This is quite good. I’m quite appreciative.”
