Report: Eunice Dwumfour, a NJ councilwoman, was shot and killed outside her home in New Jersey

According to reports, Eunice Dwumfour of New Jersey was found dead outside her home Wednesday night.
The New Jersey Globe reports that police discovered Dwumfour’s body in her car after receiving a call that shots had been fired near the Camelot apartment complex in Sayreville, NJ.

Dwumfour, a Republican who has served as councilwoman for the Borough of Sayreville since 2021, was pronounced dead at the scene, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville police Chief Daniel Plumwacker told the outlet in a statement.

Police are reportedly investigating Dwumfour’s death as a homicide. As of Thursday morning, no arrests had been made.

Republican Dwumfour won the seat in the November 2021 election. Not until 2024 was she up for reelection.
Dwumfour worked as a part-time EMT for Fire Congress Fellowship inc. and was a certified business analyst and scrum professional.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she also held the position of Director of Churches for the Nigeria-based Champions Royal Assembly.

Dwumfour earned a BA in Women’s Studies from William Paterson University.

When The Post contacted the police, they declined to comment on the murder.
