Two-time Oscar Nominee Jeremy Renner Hospitalized Following Snowplow Accident in Reno

Actor Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was hospitalized on New Year's Day following a snowplow accident.

The accident occurred near Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada, where Renner has owned a home for several year

 Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, and was in critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery.

The accident occurred while Renner was plowing snow for a neighbor and was run over by a PistenBully snowplow, which weighs at least 7 tons.

 Neighbors helped Renner while he waited for first responders to arrive because of the weather conditions.

Renner is a two-time Oscar nominee for his performances in “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town.”
